What are Video walls?

Video Walls are large screens comprised of several video modules, installed and connected to each other via a dedicated chassis. The modules we propose for video walls can avail of different technologies: rear projection, DLP, LCD, LPD laser or plasma monitors.

Each Video Wall Monitor is connected to a Graphics Video Controller that has a portion of the entire screen, then displayed entirely by all screens that comprise the video wall. In standard installations, Video Walls have both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios, given that each individual monitor or module is positioned alongside and installed in such a way as to achieve the desired aspect ratio.

It is possible to have a flexible configuration – such as 2 × 2, 3 × 3, 4 × 5 etc. – depending on how you want the aspect ratio and size of the entire Video Wall to be.
Each module has one or more RGB/DVI video inputs. The RGB or DVI inputs of each single module are then connected to a Graphics Controller which is made up of N graphics outputs that drive N videowall modules individually. This ensures that the total resolution of the entire video wall is the sum of the resolution of each monitor. Such controllers can have multiple video inputs, both RGB and composite video, for display across the entire video wall or on a portion of multiple windows, with the content of the video inputs.
To date, the modules and monitors that comprise the Video Walls tend to have LCD, APLCD, LED technology or in some cases, plasma through to the latest technology, namely Laser LPD.
