The word “Videowall” is very generic. In fact, it encloses multiple definitions of these type of devices. It is then necessary to understand and recognize le differences between the two main technologies: monitor Videowall and LED-panel Videowall.

Monitor Videowall
A monitor Videowall is composed of many monitors put side by side. This “composition” however has the disadvantage of leaving the monitor’s edge visible. This can be more or less thick based on the model.

LED-panel Videowall

Confronting them, a monitor Videowall offers a better resolution and it’s best suited for interior environments without too much light. A LED-panel Videowall instead has a higher brightness, zero edge and can be utilized both on interior and exterior environments.

Following, here’s some practical use cases of the recommended usage for the two types of Videowall.
In a stadium (or, in general, external environments) is suggested to install a LED-panel Videowall, because of its weather resistant capability, the elevated brightness (that allows it to still be visible under direct sunlight) and the ease of repair. In fact, in case of a malfunction it’s possible to directly substitute the interested panel without the need to disassemble the whole LED-panel Videowall.
If the scope is to feed information in an office, conference room or control room then a monitor Videowall is recommended. Its superior resolution allows an elevated detail level, even at close distance, at the brightness isn’t so much high that it causes eye strain.
